Beyond his practice, Dr. Barber has published several articles in the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and conducted multiple presentations at national meetings, including the annual meeting of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.  In 2008, he was nominated for the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma’s Best Orthopaedic Teacher Award.  He is also an active leader in his community, assisting mission trips, participating as a sideline physician for high school football games, and planning community 5K’s. His patients describe a man who is relatable and sympathetic to their needs. One patient offered “Dr. Barber gives very detailed explanations in a language we can understand.” Another described Dr. Barber as a “super good man and awesome doctor.” These reviews are no surprise given Dr. Barber’s approach. As he puts it: “People are at the center of medicine. Making our care understandable and personalized for each patient is a top priority.”
