She also received her Professional Registered Nurses License the same year. She has over twenty years of professional experience as both a nurse and medical administrator, beginning her career as a school nurse where she wrote protocols and developed start-up clinics for health screening for 365 students. She subsequently moved to hospital-based outpatient surgery and endoscopy services nursing where her leadership was quickly recognized, and she was promoted from staff nurse to eventual Administrative Director of Surgical Services, where she brought the entire department through an unannounced Joint Commission survey with excellent results. Kelly’s leadership ability was recognized by other hospital leaders and she joined Baptist Medical Center as the Clinical Director of Surgical Services in 2013.  Kelly’s extensive nursing experience and tireless commitment to patient care has prepared her for her current role with Alamo Orthopedics. She joined Alamo as a Nurse Navigator in 2016 and quickly established streamlined protocols to help guide our patients through their entire course of treatment, including surgery when necessary.  Kelly’s exceptional leadership skills, strong clinical acumen, genuine empathy for our patients, and jovial personality led to her promotion to Clinical Director in 2017. In this role, she leads a team of medical professionals that are highly engaged in all aspects of our patients’ entire episode of care.  Additionally, she is responsible for recruiting and training highly skilled individuals to work in Alamo’s multiple clinics throughout San Antonio.  Her team is highly committed to ensuring that all of our patients feel informed about the care that we provide, understanding fully that surgery is a highly stressful undertaking for patients and their families.

Kelly is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) and the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses (NAON).
