Dr. Benjamin O. Hooker is a native of New Braunfels, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas in 2003 and his medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston in 2007. His postdoctoral training includes a year as a general surgery intern at Baylor University Medical Center followed by completion of a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2011. He wields six years of experience in orthopedic medicine, with specialties in Outpatient Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as Electromyography and Interventional Pain Management. During his career, he has earned a number of awards, including the Baylor University Medical Center Outstanding Intern of the Year during his time in the Department of Surgery. He has also published in the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Dr. Hooker enjoys being a part of the rehabilitative process from time of injury to maximum recovery: “one of the great joys of my job is that I get to help my patients recover from injuries they never felt would heal.”  Dr. Hooker joined Alamo Orthopedics in 2015.
